Amir praises contribution of Bangladeshi community in Qatar

His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister of the friendly People’s Republic of Bangladesh HE Sheikh Hasina Wajed held a session of official talks at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on Tuesday.

At the outset of the session, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation; praising the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries spanning over nearly 50 years, and HH the Amir’s visit,which is significant to enhancing the bilateralrelations.

The Bangladeshi PM also applauded the role of the State of Qatar in resolving conflicts in the region.

For his part, HH the Amir expressed his appreciation to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to His Highness and the accompanying delegation during the visit which offers an opportunity to discuss issues of common concern, and means of bolstering the bilateral relations in various fields; aspiring for the outcome of the visit to contribute to elevating the bilateral cooperation to the desired level.

HH the Amir also expressed appreciation for the role of the Bangladeshi community in the State of Qatar, and its effective contribution to several development areas in the state.

The talks addressed aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways of enhancing and promoting them, in addition to the most prominent regional and international issues of common concern, mainly the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip.

HH the Amir and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh held earlier a bilateral meeting, and discussed a host of issues of common concern.

The session was attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.

On Bangladesh’s side, the session was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Dr Hasan Mahmud, Minister of Home Affairs HE Asaduzzaman Khan, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism HE Muhammad Faruk Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment HE Salman Fazlur Rahman, State Minister for Finance HE Waseqa Ayesha Khan, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources HE Nasrul Hamid Bipu, State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment HE Shofiqur Rahman Choudhury, and State Minister for Commerce HE Ahasanul Islam Titu, and a number of high-ranking officials.
