‘&deli’ offers a variety of dishes from around the Mediterranean, combined with the best ingredients, techniques and recipes from the local region to add a distinctive Middle Eastern flavour.
It also offers a wide range of famous Mediterranean dishes that can be eaten at any time of the day, from breakfast, lunch and dinner, to fresh coffee as well as delicious pasta dishes.
Alongside the restaurant, ‘&deli’ also sells fresh produce such as cheeses, pasta and olives, as well as a range of the finest Mediterranean-inspired handmade ceramics, cutlery, woven towels and home décor, providing an authentic Middle Eastern experience for customers.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of Qatari Businessmen Association Chairman HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, Optimized Holding Chairman Sheikh Mohammed bin Faisal and the Ambassador of Greece to Qatar HE Eleni Michalopoulou.
Talking to Qatar Tribune on the sidelines of the event, Sheikh Mohammed said, “This restaurant will be an added value to the City Centre as a shopping mall in the West Bay district, which is a very important district in Qatar for businesses in this region. This, I believe, is a great addition to the market. This restaurant is a unique concept in Qatar that focuses on Mediterranean fusion, which is a new trend in the market providing fresh, organic and healthy food. I am sure that this restaurant will be in high demand, especially among the younger generation who are more conscious about eating healthy.”
Sheikh Mohammed said that more such restaurants will open at the City Centre before the start of the FIFA World Cup.
Optimized Holding General Manager Reda Salem said, “It is a great pleasure to see the opening of the unique ‘&daily’ restaurant, which is the second project for Optimized Holding in the food and beverage sector. We believe the sector has a very promising outlook and complements Qatar’s vision to develop its entertainment and tourism industries. ‘&deli’ offers high-quality food, a great atmosphere and is in an excellent location in the center of the West Bay area at City Centre Doha.”
Talking to Qatar Tribune, ‘&deli’ Co- Founder & General Manager Elena Kallergi said, “We have found a unique opportunity in the Qatari market to offer this type of Mediterranean cuisine, which is known to many people in Qatar. ‘&deli’ is a unique experience, combining healthy food using fresh and high-quality ingredients with a warm Mediterranean atmosphere as well as the opportunity to buy organic products with unique flavors”.
Through this restaurant, Kallergi said, “We want to introduce to the Qatari market the main flavours of the Mediterranean cuisine which is organic, fresh and focuses on premium products. Making the restaurant unique in Qatar is the concept that while enjoying the food here, people can also buy the ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine and use them in their daily lives. It’s a new and fresh way of living and eating.”
“Making us different from other restaurants will be our home-style cooking. We cook our food as our mothers cook in our homes. We cook only with fresh products and use only extra virgin olive oil from Greece. The way cook here is healthier and fresh like we believe nowhere else in Doha. Most of our chefs are from Italy, Greece and Turkey and that’s why we are able to create a perfect fusion cuisine,” Kallergi said.
Kallergi said that ‘&deli’ is a brand name that has been developed in Qatar under Optimized Holding.
“This is our first branch and I am sure that we will expand in the future. As many as 25 staff will manage the restaurant work which also includes delivery services and catering for individuals and corporates,” Kallergi said.
