Minister of Finance HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari participated in the annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group held at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt from Thursday to Saturday. It was held under the slogan “After Recovering from the Pandemic: Resilience and Sustainability”.
During the meeting, the bank’s 47th annual report on 2021 was discussed and audited accounts approved. Several other topics including the date and venue of the 48th annual meeting of the Bank’s Board of Governors were also discussed.
The ministers of economy, planning and finance of the group’s member states participated in the meetings, along with representatives of international and regional finance institutions, as well as representatives of Islamic banks, national development finance institutions, contractors’ unions and consultants from OIC member states.
This year’s Bank Group meetings are taking place against the backdrop of important economic and geopolitical developments characterized by the marked decline of the Corona pandemic and renewed hope that the world will enter recovery.
